Donald Trump Assassination Attempt

Clearly all of this is developing still. I am leaning a lot on “sources” on X because it is quickest to get information out there. Importantly, what is clear, someone attempted to assassinate Donald Trump.
Today, as Trump was delivering a speech at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, a shooter posted on a nearby rooftop and fired multiple shots at President Donald Trump. Donald Trump is alive & safe (with an injury to his ear). One bystander was killed, 2 were critically injured. The shooter was killed by Secret Service.
How
The shooter was on a nearby rooftop, reportedly ‘150 yards’ from Trump’s stage. The Federalist is reporting that ‘a source familiar’ stated that there were requests for more security that were “rebuffed time and again”. I have no idea about the validity of that claim nor do I know what is ‘standard’ vs what Trump is already afforded. Regardless, given what we do know as of now, some lapses in security absolutely occurred tonight.
BBC interviewed a man that said he saw a ‘man on the roof’ and the police were confused running about the grounds. He stated that he is “100%” certain that he saw the man, told the police & secret service about it 3-4 minutes before the shooting started. He stated that the secret service shot and killed the man shortly after. This video reportedly shows secret service with ‘eyes on’ the shooter, hard to verify that though. This video again shows the proximity to the President, the below image adding some context to the video.
The Corporate Media
When reports first started coming in I was skeptical. As soon as I saw the video I felt it was pretty clear as to what occurred. Someone tried to kill Donald Trump. The corporate media’s initial reporting was pathetic and should reinforce how untrustworthy they are.
Not only does the media deserve your disdain for their initial reports, they deserve it for leading us here. Corporate media feeds us hatred rather than information and discourse. Both ‘sides’ are fed nonsense and hyperbole because it sells more ad space and gets more clicks. Matt Taibbi’s “Hate Inc” covers it pretty well.
For years now the media has been working to convince us that Donald Trump is a ‘special’ kind of evil. I’d argue, at worst, he is as evil as the rest of them. If you are here, you are probably already aware, but be sure to encourage both friend & “foe” to abandon corporate press as hastily as possible.
Regardless of where you get your information, define your morals outside of the political realm. If you allow politics to define your morals it will lead you astray and poison the mind of otherwise ‘good’ people (can check X for ‘too bad they missed’ for evidence, or look at all those still supporting Genocide in Gaza). Much like I warned about losing sight of our humanity before, we must not let politics blind us nor steer us towards accepting evil.
Political Violence
Had Trump been killed I think that violence may have erupted, it still might. Lets hope that he helps the nation come together after this horrible attack where an innocent American lost their life.
There are many ignorant fools on ‘both sides’ of our political spectrum that think violence will lead to the victory they want. It will not. Political violence, or another ‘civil war’ will not end well for any American. If you hear someone advocating for it, know they are either a Fed or a complete moron with no grasp on the reality of violence. We, as a nation, panicked due to COVID and fought over toilet paper. Imagine food scarcity, no power and legitimate FEAR for life & limb. Better to fight with words and votes.
Conclusion
If you’ve read my other articles you know that I believe our nation is , due to our policy issues (foreign & domestic) , moving towards the collapse of our empire. Despite that, it is shocking to see an assassination attempt on a former President and leading Presidential candidate. I think this event speaks to how perilous the situation truly is. This would not happen in a ‘healthy’ nation.
I, as someone not ‘dedicated’ to Trump felt angry that this occurred and was genuinely impressed by Trump in the immediate aftermath. After getting up, a mic caught Trump’s voice, he instructed Secret Service “Wait , wait wait wait” , he thrust his fist into the air and appeared to say “fight, fight fight”. It is a pretty powerful moment. I think many others will feel the same way.
Again, there is still MUCH to learn about what exactly happened, how it happened and why it happened. This article is based on the information currently available, largely coming from X.
I grow weary of good people’s need to take responsibility where there is none. This “bad people on both sides” shit has to stop. No one on the conservative side is shooting at progressives. No one in the conservative media is vilifying progressives. This isn’t our fault. Blame needs to be pointed out and issued. And a reckoning needs to happen. Otherwise this shit will never end. Don’t apologize for being a good guy.
